Hydrotherapy is a non-weight bearing exercise carried out in warm water to relieve pressure on joints, reduce pain and encourage movement. Hydrotherapy can benefit dogs suffering from injuries and health conditions including hip and elbow dysplasia, arthritis, lameness and obesity. It is also a great form of exercise for fit and healthy dogs that enjoy swimming.
“We understand that bringing your dog for hydrotherapy could be worrying, so we make every effort to reassure you every step of the way. Before any paws are wet, we will make sure you understand what will happen in the pool and your dog meets one of our fully trained hydrotherapists.”
Our 9×4 metre pool is one of the largest canine hydrotherapy pools in Devon and Cornwall. A ramp allows your dog easy access into and out of the pool, and once in the pool, your dog will be assisted in the water by one of our hydrotherapists. The water is heated between 28-30 degrees and the water quality is tested and recorded throughout the day to ensure the chemical and pH balance are maintained at the correct levels.
